Our bank was founded in 1893 as a private bank that became The First National Bank of Moody in 1901 when it received its National Charter.
The current location at 101 7th Street has undergone several expansions and remodels since it was built in 1915. The original design has been maintained as closely as possible and continues to radiate the warm atmosphere of a “hometown community bank” where our customers are the most important asset.
The Bank's current President and CEO, Glen Thurman was elected to his position in 1983 after the retirement of M.C. (Buddy) Herrington who had served for the prior ten year period. Glen and his family have had an active part in the success of the Bank throughout the years. His Grandfather, Zelma Teague, began working for the Bank in 1911 and served as President from 1940 until his death in 1973.
First National Bank of Moody is a catalyst for the beneficial growth of our customers and our community, providing for continued profitability and increasing opportunity for the Bank and its employees. We are committed to increasing the size of our market and expanding our products and services to further meet the needs of our customers, our community, our employees, and our shareholders.
